CALIFORNIA DENTAL ASSOCIATION — CDA Cares Free Dental Clinic will be held Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Modesto Centre Plaza. More than 1,500 uninsured and underinsured patients are expected to receive free dental services and are seen on a first-come, first-served basis during the event. Dental and medical professionals are needed to provide direct services to patients. Additional volunteers are needed to escort patients and translate, do clinic setup and cleanup, take registration, do exit interviews, enter data and more. Flexible shifts are available Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for clinic setup and registration; Friday and Saturday for clinic services from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and next Sunday for clinic tear-down from 8 a.m. to noon. A volunteer orientation dinner is scheduled Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel. Clinic floor volunteers must be 18 or older, and other volunteers must be at least 13.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, STANISLAUS — The 22nd annual Recognition Dinner will be held June 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Martin Peterson Event Center in Modesto. The event highlights the agency's accomplishments and recognizes those who have made them possible. Volunteers 16 and older, are needed to assist with setup from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., serve dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. and assist with cleanup from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Volunteer servers must wear black pants/bottoms and white collared shirts. Tickets for the event are $40 per person.

UNITED WAY OF STANISLAUS COUNTY — The Spring Bowl-A-Thon will roll into Modesto on Saturday at McHenry Bowl with two sessions available, at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Individuals and teams participate in an afternoon of bowling, refreshments and a chance to win prizes. Registration is $200 per team of four, which includes two games, shoe rental and pizza. No bowling skills are required; in fact, the lowest-scoring team still wins a prize. All proceeds benefit the United Way and partner health and human service agencies throughout Stanislaus County. Volunteers 14 and older are needed to register teams, serve refreshments and clean up from 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
