Time to Bash Motrin?
Apparently Motrin-makers have ticked off lots of moms when they started running an ad aimed at new moms. You can watch the ad here.
Personally, the ad didn't bother me. I'm not easily offended though and I'm not a new mom anymore.
Watch one of the several response videos here.
It's a dumb ad that ticked of a bunch of potential/current Motrin customers. Nice going.
But I agree with the blogger that was quoted in the story that ran in The Modesto Bee:
"In all seriousness, can't the motrin-moms find something more important to get irate about? I mean c'mon...Darfur, maybe?"

All I know is that my son was 9 lbs when he was born and doubled his weight by his six week check up. He hardly fit into any of the front carriers because his legs were huge!! no matter how I carried him, it hurt! If I had a tiny baby I would have probably carried him/her around in a sling or carrier no problem, no motrin. Since I gave birth to huge babies, I think motrin was a companion of mine for quite awhile! I for one will not jump on the bashing band wagon, motrin was my friend and with all the bumps, bruises and fevers, concussions, the ocassional broken bone that my kids have now, motrin is here to stay in our house!
Goodness Lisa. My hats off to you! You deserve a Margarita not a Motrin!!
I don't get the big deal at ALL. First of all, I didn't "wear" my baby, but when I carried her around it was with my arms. So...not only did my back hurt, my arms hurt too. Big whoop!
Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that the world is FULL of people that wake up everyday looking for a fight--something to "be offended by." Not me...I'd rather take a motrin and move on, LOL!
I did both. I carried my kids and put them in carriers. Doug and would laugh about needing to build up our indurance. By the time the girls were toddlers, I had arms of steel!
I try not to look for fights but occasionally I slip up. Not this time!
