Mommy IS Skinny
Obesity runs among the women in my family. For as long as I can remember I've always paid close attention to my weight. It seems that I've been on and off of Weight Watchers for the last six years. My friends always tell me I'm not fat-but I'd still like to lose about 15 pounds. Since having our son five years ago my husband has put on some weight and we tease one another about weight gain.
Home from kindergarten today my little one initiated a conversation with my husband that went like this.(I'm sure it's because we are always encouraging him to finish his lunch at school.)
Son: Daddy, if you don't eat will you die?
Husband: Eventually but not right away. First you'd get really skinny and then if you continued to not eat for a really long time you would probably die.
Son: but Mommys skinny and she eats.
I think I've just had a Sally Field moment- I'm skinny! I'm really skinny!
There it is ladies...my son thinks I'm skinny!!! How cool is that? I think I deserve a candy bar.

If the compliment comes from a child, it is a pure and honest compliment. What a sweet little fella. Financial Advisor
Can I borrow your husband to give Big Guy the speech about getting really skinny and dying if he doesn't eat? He might listen if it came from someone other than Mom carping at him.

Yes, she was fatter than me. She was “Big Mama”!
see if he can come to my house and tell me that too?
