Labor stories
The Modesto Bee recently had a story about a woman who gave birth in the family car just a few blocks short of the hospital. Do you have an interesting story to tell about the birth of your child? Please share it here.

I had a doula with both my labors and she was a Godsend. Karen kept me home for most of both my labors so all I had to do was show up and push with the first one.
The second one was frustrating because she wasn't too eager to enter the world. I ended up having an emergency C section. Which in the grand scheme of things isn't a big deal, but I had my heart set on pushing another one out.
My husband and my doctor are both sports freaks, so we were watching baseball all day while I was in labor. When it came down to crunch time, we found out the nurse was a huge Lakers fan, so we switched the TV to their playoff game. All was well until it came time to push and I needed to say, "Um, hello?" get the attention of all three of them - husband, nurse, doctor. And of course, the first words I spoke to my newborn son were "Marv Albert."
