I chose the name BECAUSE it wasn't common!
First of all, to clarify, I am NOT pregnant. I have noticed that non-name nerds don't usually think about baby names unless there is a need to name a child within the next decade.
When I named my daughter over 20 years ago, one reason I chose the
-elle name was because it was uncommon. Turns out the mothers of the other 3 girls we know that are about her age and that share her name also picked it for the same reason!
To avoid being surprised by how many girls are named Sophia or Isabella in your dd class 4 years from now, take a look at the Social Security site's Popular Names page. Every Mother's Day they update the site and list the Top 1000 names for boys and girls in the US. You can also ck by state, by year and by name. Here's the link:
